United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Giverney Green

Thanks again for all the kind words. This road that you see in the pics is West Camino Cielo. It starts just near the top of the road called San Marcos Pass (state rt. 154), which gets you from Santa Barbara over to the Santa Ynez Valley, where wonderful wine is produced. The Pass road is a two lane twister, and considered one of the most dangerous routes in the state. To some, it's a white knuckler... '06 RRS Giverny/Alpaca

Hi Jeffrey,

Nice photos. How do you compare offroad the RRS to the Disco? There are a lot of articles and photos about the Disco 3 offroading but I did not find any on the RRS. Can you please share your experience and photos with us? Thanks

Thanks again.

Access, my discovery is a 1997. No RR Sport will ever be able to do what I do with the disco. Yes, the Disco is set up for off road, but the designers at LR cursed the Sport by using brakes that you can not fit 16" wheels over. That alone dooms it from travelling on trails with lots of rocks and small boulders, which is mostly what I do and what is here in California. You must have a goodly amount of rubber between the wheel and the ground. You should see my new Sport's tires and rims after last weeks trip on some Death Valley trails. When your rim is just 4 inches (10 cm) above the ground and the wheel's edge is on the same vertical plane as the tire's widest point, rocks will chew you up. I had to buy two new tires just to get home. Those Conti's are useless on rocks, good only on flat hardpack terrain. '06 RRS Giverny/Alpaca

Tim,

That's sweet! I happen to think the GG is the classiest color, but I own one! Mine has the Alpaca interior. Nice pix! '06 RRS Giverny/Alpaca

Jeffery,

Please rest this debate i've been having w/ my sister regarding your photos that you have on your site. She's a graphic art person and she says that some of the pics you have on the site were enhanced via software if they were taken w/ a digital SLR. I disagreed with her...so you're going to settle this between siblings Smile www.vip-culture.com | 06 RRS HSE | 06 Odyssey Touring

Colour correction is not a crime Wink and can make or break an image - so too can a bad crop.

And yes those images are great ! D3 owner from the other side...
