Navigation Disk update

Gents purchasing the NavTeq update disk. It is not as up to date as you may expect. For example it still has the A1 round-abouts on it.
NavTeq will not entertain a refund and will not accept any responsibility.
Please be advised.

Really, the nav data is out of date as soon as it's sent to the production facility and burned to the DVD.

I wouldn't mind so much but my Garmin Nuvi has had the new A1 roads and A66 changes in it since late 2008.
And - who does the map software?
Yup, its NavTeq,
You would think............... ah! maybe not.

Yugoslavia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

I bought the full update for western and eastern europe. The eastern european coverage is dire, a real rip-off, especially when you consider that garmin (as a single example) covers the whole region almost 100% but yet the Navteq rubbish covers only small spots of the ex-yugoslavia republics and little bits of hungary. I read recently that Nokia just purchased Navteq for several billion euro in what was the largest ever acquisition by a Finnish company - ever. Maybe they will kick some arse and improve their rubbish map updates. Even their western european stuff is decidedly lacking. RRS TDV6 (gone)

Doesn't Garmin use Navteq map data in its GPS devices?

One thing I have learned from complaining about out of date mapping even on the day it is launched is that all the companies producing mapping data need to be told about changes by the users. They then send one of their own survey vehicles out to get the exact positions and layout etc. So if you find roads are different to the latest map get onto the makers website and tell them 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
