My glove box rattles. It annoys me.

The upper section of my MY09 TDV6 HSE glove box rattles. It annoys me. I usually have the stereo on when I'm by myself, but when I have a passenger, I usually don't ... and the rattles annoys me.

Is this a common problem? Is is just a case of taking it off and putting it back on again more securely? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

Unfortunately upper glove box rattles are a common problem, which can develop at any time.

One way of temporarily fixing the rattle is to "slide" the glove box lid to the left or right, to introduce a hard foul condition between the two parts of the latch mechanism. But this will only cure the rattle for a short period. As soon as you open and close the glove box the rattle will return.

A more robust fix is to wrap some electrical tape around the latch ring. This will cure the metal to metal contact. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Had the same problem - took it to the dealers and they sorted it under warranty - I think they either tightened up hinges or fitted new grommets on the top edge, they didn't need to change the glove box door and all is now fine.

(My wife didn't help matters by grabbing hold of it when she was getting into the car, but she's been trained now Evil or Very Mad ) Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE, Buckingham Blue with Ebony Black
