United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

The knocking when i go over small bumps has got even worse and now any dip or rough part of the road produces this horrfic sounding knock. To make matters worse when i turn the steering wheel left and right i get the thud noise (i thought this didnt apply to 2007 model year vehicle) anyone shed some light on the above matter for me. Add that to the fact that the ride has become really harsh. I know i have 20" but i have had the car for 6 months and only recently the ride has become really bad. Both front and rear passengers can feel every bump on the road? I have a 1year old child so i have not been driving above the legal limits of the road. I am giving the car back to CHPR for the final time on 22 june 2009 and i pray long and hard that the knocking noise is eliminated. If anyone can give me any advice or help please feel free to either PM me reply to this topic. Am i asking for too much to have trouble free motoring?

Big Cry I seriously am comng to my wits end please help Big Cry

I have heard a couple of knocks from my TDV6 MY58 but as i am unsure what i am suppose to hear on this issue not sure if it is related to the topic, does it only effect those fitted with Dynamic Response and how do i establish if mine has this?

Thanks

There are various knocking noises that occur relating to the dynamic pack equipped vehicles. In the earlier part of this topic there is a latest technical bulletin which outlines the various knocking issues. The most common one is when the vehicle goes over small bumps or rough roads a knocking noise as if the suspension is knocking against the chassis a thud noise. Evil or Very Mad

Now depending on what you hear it would be a good idea to go out with a techinican so that you can pinpoint the exact noise that you hear.

Good luck Thumbs Up

I have been cured of the dreaded knocking noise. The anti roll bar links were replaced and now i can concentrate on that glorious V8 Rumble Twisted Evil.

The vehcile went in on the 22/06/2009 and was returned the same day.

Thank you CHPR (Richard and Paul).

Had my vehicle in to the dealer for the brake recall and another go at the knocking over rough ground on the suspension.
My vehicle has already had the A.R.B. bushes replaced etc. So I produced the technical bulletin(printed off from this site) about the damper wieghts on the front suspension, and I report that this "fix" seems to have rectified the knocking suspension on my vehicle.
This has been ongoing for me for the past 18 months, and hopefully (fingers crossed) this is the end of problem for me anyway.
P.S. Many thanks to Bobby who originally posted the Techinical Bullettin highlighting this "fix" SAME S**T DIFFERENT DAY

We had the new bits fitted 29th December - it is a bit better on normal roads but has made no difference on the B roads around where we live Yawn

This time it was in for 2 days to "make sure" they had it right Censored Smoke me a kipper: I'll be back for breakfast.

RRS HSE TDV6 gone after 15 months since new - will not be missed I'm afraid - bit of a gremlin in there somewhere - too many issues. Replaced with FFRR Vogue TDV8 - very nice - not as sporty (of course) but absolute luxury.

Had my knocking fixed today, LR guy doing work on the side put new sway bar bushes in and it drives like new Smile

He did say that he'd see me again in 20,000 miles or less because the sway bar itself is powder coated and once the powder coating wears off the tolerances are wider so it's only a matter of time before the bushing wears down enough for me to notice it.

He told me that they get cars in EVERY DAY with knocking complaints, go figure.....

He also said that some UK firms are offering a nylon bushing which he says would be better.
