How do the front lights work?

Hi folks, probably this is a silly question and somebody will tell me I do not even know my car.
Well, I just bought a 2006 pre-owned RRS 2700 TDV6 HSE.
I made some light modifications which will shortly be available in the gallery (when everything is completely fixed).

I noticed that when I put the indicator on and I am approaching to a sharp bend, apparently the inner part of the bend seems to be more illuminated, as if there was an additional light.

It seems to me that this occurred on both sides, but not at every speed .. e.g. when I do it very slow, I do not notice this phenomenon?

What's that?
Does an additional light turn on? If positive, where is it located?
Or do the lights turn themseves along with the steering wheel? (Do you call them adaptive lights? I do not think I have them...)

Since I do not know the options of my car, is there a chance to find them now, starting from the VIN of the car?

In my other car (Audi) there is a list of codes on the leeflet was handed to me when I bought it and every code stands for an option.
I do not have anything similar in the RRS.

Apologise if this topic was already faced, in this case just give me the link and I will study..
Smile
Thumbs Up

Mate, using VIN you can get everything about your car of the system at any dealer. Do not mind my asking, but how did you buy the car when you did not know what you are getting?

And what you are describing are adaptive headlights. They turn the xenon itself and additionally switch an cornering light on when the indicator is on or you are turning over a predetmined angle below a certain speed.

Hope that this helps Thumbs Up

Well, I actually bought a standard HSE, according to the seller, hence I was expecting nothing but the standard options.
Apparently I have an option which I did not paid for and which is not standard in my country for this version.

As for the VIN, I meant any web address where to check the specs of the car (with the Jeep I could see where it was produced, when and almost see the names of the guys who made it).

Yep, the adaptive lights add a cornering lamp into the cluster which activates at speeds below 22mph - they only work whilst indicating Thumbs Up

ciao Gianluca,

cia'

Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

Try this tonight...find a dark place..

Park your car facing a wall (not too near),
Turn your light switch to the 'Auto' position,
Now start your engine...and look at the wall...

You will see the "Initialisation Procedure" of the 'Adaptive Front Lighting System', which in the old days we used to call the 'dancing lights'! Laughing Malaysia Boleh!

Aren't 'Adaptive lights' only fitted on S/C's and later models i.e the headlights which move with the steering wheel?

It sounds to me like he is referring to the sidelight which comes on at lower speeds when indicating?

I'm probably away to make an ass of myself here but when I bought my RRS (still to pick it up) I asked if it had xenon and the guy said no but it DID have cornering lights. Now i know I have the clear view pack on it so does that mean i've xenon, active xenon or what on my one as youve got me wondering now?

Cheers

Having checked the specs the cornering lamps are included as long as you have xenons... in the UK, you have Xenons as long as you have an SE or above. The lowly S still gets halogens as standard Shocked

Seems you do not need the adaptives to get the cornering lamps Thumbs Up

Was told no xenons but cornering lamps cos i asked him about all the extra lights up front so does that mean that I SHOULD have actives then? Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.
