Bloody good choice. Hard top all the way, they only built 60 of those but 140 odd soft tops, and i hear they are having lots of problems with the soft top roofs.

I doubt the hard top will be any more rainproof than the soft top or any other Defender Mis! I think Land Rover call it a "characteristic of the marque". One of the local dealers has had an SVX soft top on the showroom since last August and it's still there with a £32000 sticker price, they sold their Hard Top yonks ago 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi, We are hoping to get some photographs this weekend of our new toy, The 90 SVX is number 194 and is only one of 60 hard tops, Yeovil Landrover were the supplying dealer, excellent service as always and well recommended. Just wish the SVX was an automatic, we always had a place in our hearts for the NAS 90 just at the time a little outside our price bracket due to being students. Now were the Landrover family, between the SVX 90, RRS and Disco 3. Kind of nice to swap around, the one interesting thing is that people seem to wave to you in a 90 where as in the RRS or the disco just does not have the same effect. At the weekend we parked the SVX in town and when we returned about an hour later, noticed about 3 landie enthusiasts having a good look around her... we had a nice chat... To be honest if we had not bought the SVX we would have looked for a G4 RRS or Disco 3 for weekends and fun... Terry and Emma Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6 - 08 Plate |

Yes the last auto Defenders were the 50th Anniversary V8's in 1998 but if you have deep pockets Ashcroft will convert any Defender to an auto and IIRC JE Engineering will as well. Japersoony and Bell Auto Services from this forum are converting a Defender into a TDv8 Auto Defender Hybrid..................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced 2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW |

Japseroony posted about it recently and put up a link to a youtube video. It's only a TDv8 motor, Disco2 diffs and TDv8 gearbox on a 100" chassis at the moment I believe. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

An auto SVX now that would be good, but on the other hand I am not sure about this as it might be out of character with the vehicle. Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6 - 08 Plate |

Maybe the farming/utility companies/armed forces and rescue services who normally buy lots of Defenders don't want autos so LR has decreed that there is no demand for them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
