Yes, a "certain firm" does auto Defenders, yes they have done an auto SVX (also with hand-controls) yes they are doing a S/C V8 SVX, no, you are unlikely to make a TdV8 work in a Defender, yes they are making a TdV6 Defender. Yes, they are discussing hybrids at the highest level (but not any hybrid you people ever heard of)
Yes they did make the fastest most accelerative S/C RRSport ever when they could be bothered with such things.
Read the said website. That firm does not expect you to buy anything from them, since historically, none of you ever have (with a few delightful exceptions who know who they are  )

On another more relevant note I have some piccies of a nice soft top svx on my phone I took at James Edwards recently ... I'll post them up when I get home.
