I have a TDv8 that is still in warranty so won't ask about it but I also have an offroad "toy" Defender 90 Tdi300
Make - Land Rover
Model - Defender Tdi300
Year - 1996
Mods - EGR removed and blanked off and Cat removed
Use (road/track etc) - 20% on road 80% heavy offroad - it only does about 3000miles a year

Note: It is an amazing Tdi300 because it never uses or looses any oil between services despite my best efforts to break it

Have a look at the Fuchs Titan Syn Diesel 10w-40 here http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-997-fuchs-tita...iesel.aspx Ideal for the job Smile

Cheers

A decent 5w30 synthetic is ideal meeting or exceeding ACEA A3.

Plenty to look at here http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-653-5w-30.aspx

Hi

I would use a 5w-30 oil

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-653-5w-30.aspx

The best ones there are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Motul 300V, Mobil ESP, Castrol Edge, Shell Helix Ultra Extra, Millers XF, Fuchs GT1 and Red Line, but the Motul Eco-Energy, Mobil Super 3000, Shell Helix HX7 AF/AG and Fuchs XTR are good cheaper alternatives.

Cheers
