XFR Review

This is getting consistently good reviews... I'm not convinced it's an M5 beater in terms of all-round ethos, but I'd like a play in one all the same Thumbs Up

Read this earlier today and tbh I think it will be a better all round car than the M5, just maybe not quite as much the driving tool (Also driven by too.........) Whistle Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

As per usual, people who are into their super saloons know what they like I reckon. You either like your Ms, AMGs or RSs. Be interesting to see how many new XFR customers come from any of those brands...

I do reckon there's room for one more though... engine certainly sounds fantastic Thumbs Up

Agree S Thumbs Up

Personally, i'm a fan of all of them as they have their strengths and weaknesses. I just think my buying decision would be partly how it goes, stops and handles when the red mist descends but also very stongly towards how easy it is to live with too.

I like a proper auto than can also play when you are in the mood, but above all I love the sensation of torque and in that sense the RS6 or the XFR would probably appeal most to me.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I bet a lot of highflying execs of UK companies will be getting a lot of pressure from boards to be seen supporting British Manufacturing, Jaguar might just have launched it at the right time to capture sales from BM (even though we are not supposed to be discriminating against our EU friends........................) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

One thing to bear in mind is the M5 gets the same power without any turbos and roughly the same engine size. That makes for a different driving experience which some might prefer.

There was an article somewhere on the net about a company that added a turbo or supercharger to an M5 - had about 700BHP with a conservative mapping iirc.
