Evil Crows

Just come home and just before we got back we had to stop as a Sheep was blocking the lane. It was standing deadly still and as we stopped I noticed its head was covered in blood.

Had to stop and get out and decided to go to the farm house and tell them. Basically discovered they knew about the sheep and told me crows had pecked its eyes out Shocked Shocked F Censored K me

Apparently its common. Crows peck their eyes out while they are sleeping and most times the sheep die, however this one was a double hard bast Censored rd and survived. When we walked back to the car I took a look and it was horrible - both his eyes were gone.

The farmer took it as a normal incident and just grabbed the sheep and guided it back into the farm telling me the Vet is on his way out to check the sheep over.

So today I learnt that Crows are Fu Censored ng EVIL

I new they were capable of blinding lambs in that way but I'd never heard of it with full grown sheep - Horrible Neutral
They also have a taste for the rubber in Widscreen wipers. I used to live in an area of Aberdeen that people had to cover their wiper blades to stop the B Censored ds tearing them to bits! Evil or Very Mad 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

They are amazingly intelligent birds and learn very very quickly. I am reading a book about them at the moment - written by a lady who lives in Aberdeen and who kept abandoned crow and rook fledgilings that had fallen out of their nests and studied them. Book is called Corvus - A life with Birds by Esther Woolfson. Believe it or not they can learn to talk quicker than parrots. But as you notice they can be totally evil, as the writer noticed. One of her neighbours killed a rook and the local rook population destroyed the neighbours fruit trees and as Endjin remarks, they pulled every piece of rubber trim off the family's cars and every time the family went out they were dive bombed.

Last autumn we had the big Ash trees at the roadside on our small estate pruned and while they were at it the tree trimming team removed all the rooks nests from the upper parts of those trees. This spring it took the flock 2 days to completely rebuild the nests............................... now all my neighbours and I appear to be right under the flightpath to the rookery and at the moment I'm having to wash crowshit off two cars every day! Revenge for destroying the rookery? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Animals are not capable of revenge, what you have is a very clever bird that is well adapted to its environment, but only humans are capable of revenge. To have pecked the sheep's eyes out it would have been stuck on its back somewhere and unable to run away. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate
