What, apart from the costis the difference between a car "detailer" and a car valeter................... or have we adopted yet another Americanism to describe a car wash man. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

A professional detailer will use a porter cable (looks like an angle grinder with a buffer on it) with specialised cutting compounds and polishes etc. They are able to focus more on paint conditioning in order to correct and hazing or weathered paint. The cleaning is literally 'detailed'. See my link below for a classic example.

Theo supagaurd type products ain't all they claim to be, a simple run through a automatic car wash can remove patches of the product. But other factors are how well they have been applied.

It would be nice to have a mirror finish on my motor but living where I live in a farming area where we get mud on the roads, muckspreaders spraying slurry (and dropping it on the roads) £300 is an awful lot of dough for something that is going to last about 10 minutes when you go on the road! And I can't be ar ed to spend hours and hours on a Sunday washing and polishing the car, I have more interesting things to do 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
