ZAINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you will not get a wetter deeper finish

as long as your paint is prepped properly nothing comes close for finish or durability

heres 18 year old paint prepped and covered in zaino

heres a bonnet i did with correct prep on paint with one coat of zaino z2pro and a misting of z8 finale spray

nothing looks wetter

What, apart from the costis the difference between a car "detailer" and a car valeter................... or have we adopted yet another Americanism to describe a car wash man. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Another supplementary here too Smile

Do any of the products the car wash/valeter/detailers use give lasting shine and/or protection?

I admit I do like how easy it is to hose grime off after I have "Meguired" the car myself but if the stuff the pros use gives a longer finish Id consider it

But not at £300 pounds plus for Suaguard......

A professional detailer will use a porter cable (looks like an angle grinder with a buffer on it) with specialised cutting compounds and polishes etc. They are able to focus more on paint conditioning in order to correct and hazing or weathered paint. The cleaning is literally 'detailed'. See my link below for a classic example.

Detailing world is a great resource to look at!

Theo supagaurd type products ain't all they claim to be, a simple run through a automatic car wash can remove patches of the product. But other factors are how well they have been applied.

Giving a long lasting shine is down to the preperation of the car, as adam says lots of detailers use hand held polishers on the paint, etc

Something like Autoglym Super Resin polish (SRP) would give a nice enough finish, if your doing it by hand as it has filler in it that mask swirls slightly, then top the polish of with a hard wearing wax, to keep the SRP fillers in place. The wax i use is Collinite 476s which is hard wearing and leaves the car with a nice wetlook gloss finish (i was recommended this wax over on DW). Easy to apply using thin coats, and putting on 2 layers would make it last best part of a year.

DoDo Juice red mist is also a good spray on wax, JKP over on Disco3 has it on offer in is shop Thumbs Up

It would be nice to have a mirror finish on my motor but living where I live in a farming area where we get mud on the roads, muckspreaders spraying slurry (and dropping it on the roads) £300 is an awful lot of dough for something that is going to last about 10 minutes when you go on the road! And I can't be ar Censored ed to spend hours and hours on a Sunday washing and polishing the car, I have more interesting things to do Whistle 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Great Corsa article, not that I will ever have the will to live to do anything like that on any car I am likely to ever own

My favourite bit was the spec list for his vacuum cleaner
