Parking Sensors - Weird stuff!!

Here's one for you. I've moved to a new place that has a under ground car park. When I put the car into reverse to go in or out a space the sensors go nuts. Full tone from the front when I'm reversing into space, full tone from the back when standing still etc. Even if I turn them off then on again they still go crazy!!

Anyone any clues why!!

I know there's probably nothing that can be done about it, but thought I'd just ask.

P.S. They work perfectly fine every where else.

this has been a running problem with my FL2

it has always been due to water ingress in to the sensors themselves

or clogged with snow

I had similar problem, and it was caused by number plate holder. It was a little bit slack... All what I do was rescrew the holder and problem solved... RANGE ROVER, MORE THAN A CAR, LESS THAN A KITKAT

It's none of the above. It ONLY happens in this underground parking garage.

How close are you to the side walls in your underground carpark. My rear ones turn solid as i reverse into my garage as I go through the door aperture as the car thinks there is not enough room on the side even though there is. Once clear of the areture they go back to normal.

Maybe it is this:
What disturbes my parking sensors in a lot of underground car parks are some sensors in the ceiling of the car park.
This was the case in some former Mercedes and some bloke in the garage told and showed me (i.e. the parking sensors of the RRS have the standard of those in a 90ies S-class... Rolling Eyes Wink ). In our former Mercedes in these carparks sometimes even the car's alert system went on! Shocked Which was quite funny because other than the system on the RRS the one on the Mercedes was veeeerrrryyy loud! Laughing

If I remember correct the sensors reliable for that problem are the sensors that detect if the parking lot is taken or free but I am not 100% sure about this point. RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink
