Some of the options with Vertu phones, now pushes them well over £10K..start adding diamonds, and then you're talking car money - how stupid is that

I was playing with a friend's one last week (god - i'm starting to sound like Sexy Pauly!)

Anyway, nice looking phone. But ordinary Symbian operating system (think Nokia).
- So I don't get it.

This is the newest one :-

The TV advert I think with Pierce Morgan in it for his new series in Dubai says something about mobile phones at a cost of £250k

Why spend that sort of money on a nokia Rolling Eyes

Coz you can? Remember some folks still have more money than sense, even in these hard times. If you own an oil well or two or your country pays you to be a citizen (reverse taxation is still paid to Kuwaitii nationals) I suppose you might suffer a momentary lapse of good taste now and again. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I suppose it's the same as wrist watches - they all do the same thing, it's the way they do it that costs so much. I have a rather nice Breitling Chronoghraphe Aerospace, cost what I thought was a HUGE amount of money to spend on a watch. It's been super accurate and in 10 years has only needed one replacement battery. I would be the first to admit I could have bought about 50 cheap casio's for the same money but they don't look as nice! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Germany 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Well, why would you spend 60k on a car with plastic interior? Wink

There may be people who say "I have been owning my Vertu for 5 years and will be able to use it for another 10 years, so it's cheaper than your stupid iPhone you have to buy new every year." Shocked
Just like I tell all people who say they don't understand why I like to buy expensive pens or watches. Whistle

So, if they like it, let them buy their 5,000 € phones. I would never spend that sort of money on a mobile phone (although I must say, some of the Vertus look really good) - besides I'm too poor for a vertu!
