Like Angel I drive 20" in summer and 19" winter, but there is a diffrence in ride quality from the 255/55 19"MT/R and the 20" contis. With the 19" it is much more complient and smooooothes out the bumps, much more like the magic carpet, downsides are MORE NOISE and you can 4 wheel drift very easily

Often meant post a question about living with a set of MTR’s. Could I be so bold as to ask what sort speeds / road surfaces, we’re talking about with this four wheel drift |

80km/h, sport mode, damp-ish motorway on ramp, with the contis I have to switch off the DSC to get the same effect on-ramp is a 270 degree constant radius descent from a flyover to the main autoroute. Couldnt't live with the MT/R all year, they are fine for the winter or off-roading, level of grip is no where near as good as the contis, esp when it is wet Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh Clan Cameron |

No worries............ MTR’s are these Goodyear Off Road Tyres The favoured tyres on 19" rims for off roading
Mmmmm, pretty much as I thought I want to get a less road biased tyre, but would like to stick with 19" rims. But unfortunately it seems that the choice is either a road tyre, or the seriously rugged MTR. I haven’t yet found an in between tyre. |

I would be careful with any replicas given the weight of an RRS. This will limit your choice, so have a look at the LR website where all the styles are shown. Average price for 4 new LR 20"alloys will be just under £1500 from one of the Dealers on here with a 15-20% discount. Small plug....but I will have a set of 4 genuine LR 20" SC/TDV8 wheels available soon. 1 1/2 years old and no kerb damage. Being taken off my TDV8 to put replacement 20" wheels back on. TDV6 - gone TDV8 - gone Audi Q5 3.0 Tdi Sline wef 6/11/10 |
