Go with an aftermarket product like Parrot, 10 times better than the LR one. '08 RRS TDV8

No the Parrot is a separate module, you select the contacts on it.

With the LR kit you can dial via the radio, kind of, you can select the first letter of the contact on the keypad but then you have to scroll through the contacts with the selection wheel(or the switches on the steering wheel).

What you do not get with the LR kit, at least with the Nokia 95 and for what i can see most of the headsets, are multiple numbers per contact, call history(dialled, received). '08 RRS TDV8

No, with the LR Kit you only get Bluetooth, Handsfree and Voice Recognition, which is useless! You cannot dial via the radio, although the radio will go silent during a call. No keypad use also!

Its not the same as the the factory fitted phone system. Malaysia Boleh!

Well, I have the BT kit. I'm still trying to figure out the way to transfer my contacts list from my phone (motorola razr) to the integrated system.

Any clue someone?

With the BT Kit, you can only store and access numbers via the Voice Recognition System.

The factory fitted Intergrated Phone system will allow you to access the phone/address book details when the phone is docked in the cradle.

Unfortunately the BT Kit does not come with the cradle etc. and storing/accessing phone numbers via the Voice Recognition is a bitch! Cool

Good luck! Smile Malaysia Boleh!

Bobby as of MY2008.5 the RRS doesn't have the cradle or wired system under the centre cubby box any longer, only the BT and as of MY2009 it doesn't have the Nokia system it has what LR call a "continental" system - I assume this is the Parrot built-in system.......................... the other problem now is that you have to have a cable to charge your phone from the cigarette lighter socket , not a very elegant method for a sophisticated car

JMM, you may have to go into the settings of your phone and copy all the contacts from the phone onto the SIM. I too have the V3i Razr and found the RRS could only read 3 out of several hundred contacts - those 3 happened to be the numbers I had saved to the SIM and not to the phone. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You are right - nothing aftermarket can integrate with the radio.
The Parrot really is 1st class and works with nearly all phones without needing to do any software upgrades or anything. I'm about to have the latest Parrot system fitted to my Defender which has no PTI, this isn't launched into the UK until next week. http://www.parrotshopping.com/uk/p_parrot_item.aspx?i=164792

I had this system retrofitted to my last RRS http://www.parrotshopping.com/uk/p_parrot_item.aspx?i=112175
It has voice activation AND reads your phone's contact list from the phone or the SIM, mine was fitted by the local Landy dealer who integrated it with the radio but only to the extent that it would silence the stereo when I got an incoming call or made a call, this required an additional cable I believe. All told it cost me the price of the Parrot and the cost of 1 hour of labour in the dealership (and loosing the use of the car for a day!) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Agree, the Parrot is the system to go as aftermarket (well as 1st equipment too on the RRS Wink ) I had the 3100 on my previous RRS, way better than the LR one.

The RK8200 looks like a really nice kit. Thumbs Up '08 RRS TDV8
