I am less than 1km from my local Mast that is enabled to the fast data speeds, I struggled to maintain a connection for longer than 20mins and in the main its was switching back to normal sub 1mb speeds for data, so i'd say until they fill the network out a bit it might not be worth your while. I have a SE W850i which is 3G and its honestly a bit pointless (for me). |

NP, BT Fon is WiFi so no use to me on the ship where we are usually miles from the nearest building, certainly not closer than 30m unless something goes very very wrong............................ Except in the port of Rotterdam where the Maersk Terminal we use is the first in the world to have Broadband wifi connections on the terminal for free use by ship's crew.

How do you pick up your emails etc on the ship - satellite uplink?
