just in the process of fitting recon turbos to my TDV8.
What is the best way to spin the engine without it firing, so I can check oil flow at the turbo oil feed pipes.

its actually the air pipe that goes from the air box to the turbo that's full of oil.
when the turbo expired, oil leaked into the air inlet. |

was thinking of using a water based degreaser like parts washer fluid.
I had a look in the bottom of the intercooler and there's a few bits of impellor in the bottom.

Thanks for the info, I hope that is the problem as it would save me removing the turbo, which may not be poss anyway.

There was a lot of white smoke coming out the exhaust and it happened very suddenly.
when I put the camera down the turbo inlet pipe it came out dripping with oil.

Possibly, but the coolant did not boil out when I took the expansion tank cap off and there was no white sludge in the oil filler cap.
