I guess many RRS owners with an "Auto" setting on the headlights simply leave the lights permanently on that setting and then forget about the lights altogether.

Your "spots" are actually fog lamps and, as such, it's illegal to drive with them on (in the UK, at least) unless visibility is poor... At least the RRS switching is arranged so that dipped beams have to be on as well, avoiding complete boy racer syndrome ![]() |

i stand corrected, Fog lights then, and yes i am probably one of them, the lights do in fact light up just in front of the vehicle, which is of great benefit to me living out in the sticks and down small lanes full of pot holes and small animals, the more light the better i say ![]() No S i do not ever sit idly in the middle lane of the motorway, like some senile old tos ![]() ![]() -------------------------------- P38 Range Rover Autobiography RRS 2.7 HSE Silver RRS TDV8 HSE silver FFRR Vogue black Disco3 HSE silver RRS 2.7 HSE silver RRS 3.0 HSE BALTI BLUE ______________________________ current vehicles RRS 3.0 L494 Autobiography Audi R8 V10 Spyder AC Cobra Landrover Defender 90 Landrover Defender 110 Suzuki Jimney |

I recall that in slow traffic under a railway bridge they even used to sense on and off well and that was like a car and a half long ish... ![]() AND you could tell from in the car which you cannot in the RRS... ![]() |

I think the light sensor is in the top middle of the windscreen with the rain sensor. Cheers

I've been a fan of auto on lights but the RRS system is not sensitive enough and as noted above I find that the headlights switch on too late and off too early. I'm not sure but I think the sensor is on the rear-view mirror front. I have resorted to manually switching them on and off as I prefer to drive on the motorway with dipped headlights on at all times - bitter experience of idiots pulling out just a few meters in front of me makes me think Giverny Green is not that easily seen even in broad daylight. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

One of my pet hates too Shmoogle. Just plain thoughtless and downright rude. It should be made an offence, and should also be made legal to UNDERTAKE them (which I do anyway.., bol ![]() ![]() |
