TMC Seems a lot better

Has anyone else noticed that the TMC in the premium Nav system seems to working a lot better recently (March 2007) Have classic FM done something on their broadcasts in the SE? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Being a new owner I can't comment on what it was like in the past.

But TMC was the the surprise bonus in the SatNav system for me. The popping up of the Road Works and Traffic Jam icons seems to work really well along with the SatNav woman warning "Slow Traffic in 1/4 mile" etc. A really nice extra that seems to work well in the Thames Valley Area. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

It's great when it works but a few months ago it never picked up the signal even after a long drive. Now it picks up the signal all the time! Thumbs Up 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Have you had the car serviced? I have Nav on the move update and the TMNC works well. New software maybe? 2022 P440e AB

Our '07 TMC struggles too - forever locked onto Heart FM (which doesn't broadcast TMC Confused ), retune to Classic and all is well until "some time later" - maybe next ignition off/on, maybe overnight....

Puzzle is my Alpine aftermarket satnav in the D2 with TMC works REALLY well and is invaluable (providing you trust it Shocked )...so can only assume it is the retuning that is knackering the RRS implementation of it??? Cheers

If I remember there are two TMC providers in the UK... some mfrs sign up with one, other sign up with the other one. The broadcast is all via Classic FM, but there may be some differences in the mechanism that delivers the data to them in the first place.

Two systems that both broadcast via Classic? If so that might explain the difference. The Alpine is quite usefully-regional-specific, ie you don't get the map clogged with traffic icons for the SE unless you are getting the signal from a Classic xmiter down that way etc.

Trouble is the RRS doesn't get clogged with anything anywhere unless manually retuned all the time.... Cheers
