True enough, but judicious use of playlists could allow you to set your iPod going once and then you just continue listening. My iTunes library tells me I have over 14 days of music! I know true integration isn't there - but I suppose you have to run with what exists.

Looks like there's a better spot for the control unit just behind the parking brake. The display is in the same spot, on the shelf above the glove box. The other view, which shows the display in a cup holder looks neat, but you lose a cup holder, and you'd have to look down to see what you are doing.

That's what I meant when I said the link didn't work... Having now found the pics... it looks like the loss of a cup holder in the RRS has less of an impact than it does in the D3 as the cup holders aren't on either side of the gear selector. Either way it looks nicer plumbed into the glovebox shelf, I think. 2009 Outstanding Contribution Award - Joint Runner Up 2009 'Tech-Head Of The Year' Award - Runner Up Like it here? It would be nice if these guys could develop a dock to fit the RRS. Have made the suggestion.

Apple have just released the Apple Remote. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebO...e=MA128G/A Whilst I know that there are other remotes on the market this one however looks good so I will simply put the ipod in the centre consol, hook it up to the rear aux socket, make some playlists and use my ipod that way. `All I need is some sort of amp to give the sound a bit of umph. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Uh, that Apple Remote requires the Apple Dock. And since it's IR, it needs to have line of sight of the dock's IR receiver. On a side note, a Nano is only slightly bigger than the remote. The new iPod Radio Remote, only supported on Nano and iPod with video, connects using the dock connector... but also comes with headphones, and a FM tuner you may not want. And, of course, won't charge your iPod or give it a line-out port. |
