I bet for it

I vote for rear view camera, one simple reason, yesterday in front of dealer shop I park my RRS and I was in a hurry to collect some accessories it was rear cargo mat and the net, it came in a huge flat carton so I decided to support on the rear seats I had alot of addition staff there so my cargo area was completely full that I can't see through the rear glass, while I was reversing and depending on the side mirrors I haired the beep increasing from the sensors which most of the time I ignore them coz I can't differentiate between the rear and front sounds so I thought it was the wooden pallet which I saw it in the mirror and it was quit far so I ignore it too just after a few seconds I felt that I hit something oh oh..so I walk out of the car and I find my rrs rear bumper was kissing the lighting pole
The damage was minor and I got dealer estimate on spot coz I was just outside the workshop…it was 1200$ for full rear bumper and painting job..ofcoures I got police report for insurance but..I do not want to send it now coz it will take minimum two weeks so I polished the bumper by my self and fixed and it look acceptable u cant’s c any damage only if you wear your gloss and try to see your face thought refluxing image of a shiny bumper….now I have three options
1. live with it till more addition damage hope not but due to offloading no guarantee
2. fast repair on my own cost
3. let the insurance toke over and wait for a car more than two weeks

the hole point is that what happen happened but with rear viewing camera which I used to it in my wife Lexus make the reversing easy and safe so I bit for it and like to hear if any of u guys has installed the rear camera in RRS

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

The first day I had ny RRS I reversed it into a pole. I was listening out for the rear parking sensors but I heard nothing, just a cruch as I hit a barrier seperating parking bays.

I couldnt belive it. I then looked in the manual that warns of blind spots in the system especially with poles etc.

Although LR couldnt recreate the problem they did help with getting it sorted.

The parking sensors are a lot less clear and audible then I am used to on BMW's. I have reverted to old fashioned reversing using my brain instead.

0h no first day..but i guess it does not matter if it was first day or first year..what we will appreciate from the land rover to fit in all coming RRS models with reverse view camere..sensors are not that clever...or maybe landrove should arrange some kind of free training how to use them...personally I prefare to have acual rear view that beebing sounds..things get worst if u have towing huck and u r trying to reverse to attach it to the trailer..I do not c that sensers will guide u Neutral 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged, Buckingham Blue, Ivory converted to HST Silver

I dinged the back of mine after a couple of days ownership because of the crap PDC... Ian is right, the BMW system is much more easily understood - especially when you get the visual indication on the iDrive screen Thumbs Up

the BMW 5 series PDC system is fantastic - can reverse into a parking space without looking out of any mirrors or windows - just watch the screen - should be in every car

Not sure you need to differentiate between them, especially if you cannot - if you are going forward and hear a beeping it is the going forward beep and likewise for going backwards... Confused

That said I'd like the camera for hitching up to the trailer..... Thumbs Up
