I doubt it's theft proof but would be delighted to be proven wrong. The volume of the alarm if pathetic - if I broke into the car it wouldn't alert a anyone unless they were standing next to you! Is there a way to increase the volume of the alarm? I guess not due to EU REGS. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten 2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed. VA ,I definately agree with you regarding the alarm noise. I programmed my key ring as a personal alarm, (as I am so good looking ) but when testing , I found as you did , the alarm is pathetic . Maybe there is a way of making it louder ? But as it is, if anybody attacked me or my car, the alarm would only turn them on !!!!!!!! |

Scorpio - I trust you're a bloke however if you're not I apologise. I'm afraid the choice between you and your RRS the answer would be the RRS even if you're an Adonis! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten 2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed. They keys are RF secured... so the vehicle will not start if there is no original key available. However, if someone really wants to steal your vehicle (a true professional)... nothing can stop them.

Are there any laws about the volume of a car alarm? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten 2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed. WINNER - 2009 Idler Of The Year Award Runner Up - 2009 Just Doing What Its Designed To Do Award DO NOT CLICK HERE! |

In reply to the start topic. These days most cars from small ones to exotic are stolen with the keys taken from inside the front door of your house while you sleep and end up in London. There is some suggestion that if the keys are used insurance companies can be difficult.

Hmmm not so sure about that advice, not sure I'd really want a determined set of burglars wandering all round the house at 3 in the morning determined to find the car keys. Good house alarm & big noisy dog sound a better bet! HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory) 911GT3 (Guards Red, carbon interior) ElanSE (BRG) Panamera Turbo S Boxster S |

Exactly what I´ve got but as was said if someone is determined enough to steal your car they will. You can poison a dog quite easily if it is not well-trained.To tell the truth my family's health and mine come before the car.My only gripe is that some insurance companies take ages to pay out if your car has been stolen.
