Logic 7 Audio System

Hey Folks, my first post is a question. I have read many articles, road tests, and posts, but don't recall anyones evaluation of what is (at least on paper) a very hot audio system. Now I think I realise, no-one buys a Land Rover for it's stereo, but LR did go through some effort there and I would like to know how they did. Any owners/testers care to comment?

Simmikie,
I spent the other day driving round in my bosses Disco 3, yhis has had the Logic 7 system fitted and I can tell you I was mighty impressed at the sound quality.
His Van Morrisons CDs certainly sound well at full blast with no noticable distortion through the range. But you must consider that being tone deaf when comes to music I may not be the person to comment!.
What is a very good feature that did impress is the fact that the in dash system accepts six cd's into the dash mounted player. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

Thanks for the info. And I thought I was the only human left in the universe that still appreciates Van Morrisons sound. BTW, still waiting huh?

All I can say is Logic 7 beats the full monty BMW "Professional" setup with DSP and sub-woofer on my previous X5. I understand it also plays MP3 encoded CD-ROMs and there is a 3.5mm socket at the back of the centre console that accepts an iPod or similar via AUX. The volume of each source can be set relative to the next so no more bleeding eardrums. And if you specify the rear seat entertainment system your rear passengers can listen to any source via headphones independent of the front occupants. I also have voice recognition which allows me, among other things, to call up radio stations by frequency or CD tracks. Usefully the system volume is automatically limited when the engine is not running to educe the possibility of running down the battery. Range Rover Sport TdV6HSE in Bonatti Grey + 20" Stormer wheels (ex X5 and ML driver)

Toodeep,

Understand you have the TDV6 with 20" Stormer wheels - aren't these wheels only for the 4.2SC 1st Edition? Just curious! Malaysia Boleh!

I'm personally not very impressed with the stock "Logic 7" system's sound in both the RRS and the Disco 3/LR3. It's no better than a mid-range 3rd party stereo system. And the subwoofer is junk. Of course, it's all subjective. If you are happy, be happy. There are plenty of vehicles with worse stock stereos.
Very Happy

Logic 7 is great but the standard Harmann Kardon on the HSE is very good for standard. for me it's largely enough

Hey Bobby

Yes I have the 20" Stormer wheels but purchased them as an accessory. In fact I got them from a well known tuner who is modifying a new car which will be fitted with their own 22" wheels!. The standard wheels on my HSE were 19" "5V spoke alloys" which are consigned to the garden along with the 22" Anteras from my previous X5.....

The Stormer wheels are lised as an accessory in the UK although there are rumours they are scarce. If you are interested I'll let you know the part number. Range Rover Sport TdV6HSE in Bonatti Grey + 20" Stormer wheels (ex X5 and ML driver)

Thanks guys.

I have on order the SC 1st Edition, supposedly arriving my country late July (this year!). We were told at the time of booking that, among othe things, the 20" Stormer Wheels were exclusive on the 1st Edition. And the 1st Edition is "Special" in the sense that only 200 units will be built. My country is allocated only 3 units and I am one of the 'lucky' ones who will be receiving a Java Black/Ebony Sports Leather!!

Sigh!!! Looks like this is not such a 'special' deal after all! Malaysia Boleh!

Don't worry. A set of wheels does not a "4.2 SC First Edition" make. Range Rover Sport TdV6HSE in Bonatti Grey + 20" Stormer wheels (ex X5 and ML driver)
