2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
Rear trunk lid rattles

Hi folks,

Just got my RRS last week and noticed a rattle that seems to be coming from the rear boot lid. Checked a thousand times and even extended the stoppers to create a tighter fit. It didn't work.

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Hi Peter. As Bobby and Lateral say, you're not alone with a tailgate rattle and the various suggestions within this thread will almost certainly fix it for you. Good Luck! Thumbs Up

Also have had rattles from the rear. In my case it is the seat belt on the right rear seat coming out of the plastic holder attached to a strap, makes the plastic holder shake on top of some other plastic attachment and thus make noise.
Not very well described, but I'm sure you understand what I mean. Wink 2010 RRS TDV6 3,0, Bali Blue/Tan/Anigre/Dynamic Pack/Logic7/Keyless entry/Paddle

Hi Bobby, Brian and Lateral.

Thanks but it still rattled so I brought it to a high end shop here that does all exotic cars and in five minutes the owner found the problem...the rear lid didn't lock in the second lock. Apparently there are two locks - first and the second one. But since the rubber stoppers (the ones you can adjust) were extended since I thought it would help add tension and elimenate the rattle - caused it not to lock in the second lock! So guys, it's real easy. Screw in your rubber bushings and close the lid until locks firmly and absolutely no rattle at all!

Best,
