Am building up to order one but have a few questions!

Thanks

A good friend of mines just got one. He loves it...it was either that or the E63..he couldnt decide but eventually went for the CLS. They do look amazing. Im not sure if you've seen the TG episode where Jeremy tests the CLS but if not take a look at it on youtube. Good review of it.
I'd personally say E63 but its all personal choice and your money not mine Laughing Michael Potter

have nearly bought one (the 55, not the 63) twice now ...

wonderful cars to drive. And to look at. not so good in black, as black hides the grace of the car.

lucky you.

Have funded two of these now, and nearly bought a 320 cdi back in late 2005 as well for myself.. decided the 4 seats and the quite high price at the time was very unjustified at the time.. thought the new S class would make a dent in the residuals, and or other cars entering the market, but they haven't done too badly to be fair, on the CDI front, although someone told me not to long ago that there were a lot of these parked up in a lot somewhere as merc couldn't sell them that easily.. unsure..

The residuals i have on file for these look like this by the way, just on a depreciation interest:

Car             Mercedes CLS55 AMG Coupe (used 2005/05 plate)
Cost            £57,950.00
36 months       £25,308.00 = 43%
48 months       £21,212.00
60 months       £17,320.00

These are about 2 months old now.

Comparable would be something like this really:

BMW M6 are: (USED 55/05 £61k)
36 Months £33,727.00 = 55%
48 Months £29,047.00
60 Months £24,620.00

But obviously these are guide book prices issued by a lender, so are just like they say: ' guide' for your info.

Sold my one year old CLS 500 end of last year with 5,000 miles on the clock. It cost over sixty grand new 12 mth's later best price from a dealer thirty eight and a half Shocked

Nice car to drive but not very practical for a large car. Can only seat two in the back and not very comfortable if your six foot or over.

So, an expensive proposition new and only really practical for a 2 adult + 2 children family then? How was the reliability Tony? Question

Thanks Guys,

So it looks like a mixed bag of views on this car.

Sorry the E55, E63, is this the M5 we are talking about?

What would you suggest then?

A mate has a E55 and its a beast of a car a real wolf in sheeps clothing. The E63 has less torque and many seem to prefer the older engine, but the depreciation is Shocked

No, they're E-class Mercs... confusing the model denomination for the "new" M5 is E60 Wink
