Accessing the NAV while driving

In my wife's Lexus there is a secret screen that allows you to access the nav while driving(it's a series of taps to the screen corners on a certain page and a special screen pops up). You hit override and bam you can input an address while driving. I'm assuming this screen is for technicians. Does a similar screen exist in the RRS????

There is a diag mode, but it's "read only" and there is no bypass. Search for more comments... I'm pretty sure it's been covered multiple times. Sorry. So, you are stuck with stored addresses or POIs.

Hi Biggles

I have read the instructions some where on the disco3.co.uk site . There is a post there giving full instructions. I can't exactly remember the procedure . Do a search and you should find it .

Navigation diagnostics

1) Turn the key to position II and acknowledge the Navigation "lawyer disclaimer" by pressing "AGREE"
2) Make sure you are in Navigation mode. (Press the Navigation hard button, for example.)
3) Press "Home" on the Touchscreen.
4) In the center of the top of the Touchscreen, press the screen for 5 seconds. (It's an "invisible button.")
5) A diag PIN entry prompt will appear: Enter 753 on the Touchscreen and press "OK"

As always, I'm not responsible if something goes wrong. Smile

Uh, what holy grail? It's pretty boring. No "options." Just a few test features... Manual check, Self Check, Info, etc.

So by going into diagnostic mode and changing settings, is there a way to change nav while driving?

I think the diagnostic display is purely read-only - you cannot make changes in there.

OK I'm back on Nav screen - you just have to leave it a bit. When in the passworded section it gives all sorts of info but I couldn't see where to change any settings so that the satnav buttons will work whilst driving. Looks like read only as previous posters said. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
