I noticed on my RRS dashboard on the passender side there is an indentation runing from the windscreen to the dash - At first it looks like something heavy has been put on the dash and over time compressed the dash and I thought this might have happened when my car was in the bodyshop for 3 months. I now notice I have exactly the same marks on the D3 dash and so I'm thinking it must be caused in manufacture - has anyone else noticed this? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Yes whats your address? Will do tomorrow. there is a straight line and another line at 90 degrees running to the side of the dash, where the 2 lines meet the corners are rounded. Looks like pressure marks. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten 2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed. VA, I remember on the factory tour that the dash boards were transported to the production line and up to the vehicle on large frames. Perhaps those dents are where the frame has held the dash ? I'll look at our RRS & D3 in the light tomorrow, but can't say I've ever noticed anything. Bet this is the sort of thing that once you have noticed it, its really annoying ....... RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

VA, I had some identations on other plastic rear panels and a trim specialist removed them with heat (hair dryer or similar), they expanded back out again. I'm only suggesting in case your stealer refuses to replace under warranty. Good Luck!!!

The indentation is only small - resembles bark that a heavy cardboard box would leave. Willpost pics tomorrow 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Perhaps they have posh cardboard boxes in Surrey Woody? Anyway, sounds like an imperfection in the moulding VA? The simple fact remains, if you didn't do, and you obviously didn't, then it's got to be down to LR!!! |

This recently came up on rangerovers.net. Our bet is that it has something to do with the passenger airbag compartment "showing through" the top of the dash. I did see those lines after the thread came up, if we are talking about the same thing they are more or less above the top glovebox. I had not paid any attention to them in over a year of ownership. Now I notice them all the time and think they are an eyesore. I wish you/they hadn't brought them up... |
