Regarding "warming" diesel on cold days, the oil companies add special "anti-waxing" additives to diesel in time for winter - I believe it is illegal for the general public to add anti waxing agents (a small amount of petrol used to be the way it was done) and if the Revenue stop you to check if you are using "Red" diesel they also analyse the sample for additives. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Indeed!

The reason for fitting it is because modern diesels take absolutely forever to warm up otherwise!

On my D2 if idling for period in traffic on a cool day it is unable to maintain "norm" on the temp gauge and the needle will drop....all resolved since the webasto was fitted however (equiv to the factory FBH but adds the timer and remote). Cheers

Smelly diesel fumes in the car

The last few days has seen the temperature drop enough ofr my FBH to come on. Our routine is that tmy 14 year old starts the car on the drive 10 minutes before we leave for school in the morning

If the FBH has come on, when we jump in the car to leave, the car smells of diesel fumes (white smoke seen in the NS wheel arch / front of the car) and its horrid, smelly stuff. The recirculation button on the air con is a must to help avoid this (if the kids remember to put it on). The exhaust pipe on the FBH needs an extension pipe to get it rear of the air con air intake vents surely? Yet another poorly thought out LR design not properly tested by "real people" before production. It's finally gone! Replaced with BMW 730SE in Sophisto grey Xirallic finish with Oyster (Ivory) and black interior. DAB, Climate glass, Ceramic iDrive and gear selector, power boot and iPhone Bluetooth pack - luvvin' it!

I miss my old RRS "bucket" rattling around but it just had to go!

I'm sure it can be installed and will heat but the full Webasto kit includes:

Any one-way valves to go in the engine cooling hoses to stop any reverse thermo cycling and hence poor warm up.

Wiring to run the heater fan to warm the interior.

and...

Wiring to ensure the car's alarm ultrasonics aren't set off by the air circulating.

Clearly the wiring connections may be challenging to develop on a modern complex car like the RRS...if Webasto haven't released a full kit yet then these areas are probably not fully developed yet....

In my experience with my heater the ability to pre-heat the car beats the factory FBH config hands-down for comfort Smile Cheers

Think Eberspacher do them too - never seen a petrol version in the UK though. Cheers
