I think Rob has a life (unlike most of us) so he will doubtless respond when he can! |

rob sorry to hear about your troubles. it's really sad too because it's the owners who are really losing out, not LR. |

What's wrong with the LR sill plates? Are they poorly fitted, bad quality or what? I just ordered my RRS Tdv6 and added LR sill plates because everyone was telling me that sill plates are a must-have. |

Right on. LR's sill plates consist of two parts, the "decorative" one you see in the picture with the LAND ROVER logo looks nice over the plastic trim near the seat but doesn't really protect anything. The actual OEM sill plate stops well short of its edge, leaving the most vulnerable part of the sill exposed to scuff marks. Tasmod's wraps around the edge of the sill as you can see. His version is also substantially longer than the one offered by Land Rover, covering a larger section of the sill than the OEM. And it costs about half I think. |

If I was LR I'd be paying Rob a substantial licensing fee to sell them as LR parts. The existing LR ones are nowt more than decoration. |

Trademarks and the 'unauthorised use' is a real pain.

Don't know if Rob holds a patent on his design. Obviously he won't have been able to patent/trademark the wording... |

Trouble is it will cost Rob a small fortune to patent his design. A liecensing deal with LR would be best....everytime Rob sells a set of sill plates he would have to give LR a 'cut'.....not fair but maybe the only way |
