Could someone post a pic for me??

Could someone who has the PTI system with a cradle, post a picture for me of the interior cover of the center console with the cradle unhooked? I need to see how the actual cradle connects to the lid. I was wondering if I could adapt a Smarteq cradle to fit in the RRS. Thanks.

Not sure what you are asking to see... the "cradle" attaches to a mount underneath the center console cover. The interface connector for the cradle is small, rectangular and proprietary. The whole thing is upside down when closed.

It looks like this: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/displayima...&pos=5 (It's the same on Disco 3.)

And what do you mean "adapt?" If you mean stealing the 12v power source and possibly the external antenna, yes... possible. But if you mean making it work like the full PTI cradle system... no way.

I meant I wanted to see a pic of the mount itself, not the cradle. And when I meant adapt, yes I meant the PTI as well. Aren't they just the same outputs? I could re-wire it from a SE usb cable.

Well, I don't have a cradle (using PTI with a Bluetooth phone), but here is a picture of the receptacle under the armrest where the cradle would connect to:

Just a small connector...

The cradles have some logic inside them. There is no "standard" method for connectivity... at cradle mount point or the phone. If there was, we wouldn't be so limited in phone choices.

Thanks for posting that photo!!

Ah, right. I guess I didn't think about those internal intricacies. I have a real dilemma as LR has just told me that they discontinued the cradle for the Sony Ericsson phones. I just don't get it. I wish there was a place I could find it. I'm sure some parts department somewhere must have one hanging around.

my guess is they discontinued the sony ericcson cradle becuase sonys new phones have different connectors. They have to make a whole new cradle for the use of newer sony phones

The SE phone that was supported has been retired in most markets... so it's understandable the cradle may be "retired"... that, or they had massive problems with it. Cheaper to eliminate it than support it. Very Happy

Their cradles support phones that are mostly outdated anyway, couldn't they at least come up with new cradles before retiring the sorry handful they offer?

True, the SE phones listed have been retired, but the software version they list (R3C002) for the SE phones, is the basis for the software on the new K750. That is a brand new phone, being used all over Europe and on its way to the US. True, many people could come up with the same argument for a million different phones, but it seems to me that they must have manufactured a number of these cradles to begin with. Now, all of a sudden, in the past 2 weeks, they are all gone. They've vanished Question Question Crying or Very sad

Rweintra,

I will ask the land rover parts supplier I use if he has any tomorrow, and I will let you know. He is usually pretty good with getting Land Rover parts.

Not sure if you know this, but the k750 has a compleatly different connection then previous models I.E. T610 T630 K700 S700 so even if you did find the sony ericsson phone cradle which I belive was made for the T610 it wont be able to connect to a K750 or W800 or anything that came after those.
