What can I expect

Hi guys
I don’t own a RRS, not yet anyway.
After having a test drive on Sunday doing some 80 miles in North Wales I am totally sold on having one. My finance man has a great price (discount) and it looks like a March delivery on a 07 plate. So just for information what do you guys think I can expect realistically in the way of fuel consumption from a RRS 2.7 HSE 2007 around town and on a long run.

Welcome Dave!

Over my year of ownership, with a mix of town/motorway driving, I constantly averaged around 25mpg. Others have done better, some worse... but mid 20s is a fair representation.

Roll on March! Thumbs Up

Thanks guys
I know what to expect now. The RRS was terrific on Sunday I new it would be good but it was just so impressive. I have a BMW 530d touring currently and while it is faster and more economical than the RRS it’s just a car. At the end of the test drive we (yes the wife was of the same opinion) just felt like that the RRS was ours and we were so reluctant to hand it back.
Shmoogle why did you change to the BMW?

On average I do about 2000 miles/month and the fuel bills (even with the diesel) were getting silly and unfortunately, nobody sees fit to pay for my fuel Sad If it was financially sensible to do so, I would've kept the RRS though - it was a great car! Very Happy

I've driven BMWs since the dawn of time so if I was going to change brand it was really always going to be a return to what I know. I did look at other cars, but the blue & white propeller was calling Wink

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Rural driver here - most journeys are 16 miles each way to local town and some fast A road blasting, I'm getting 26-28mpg but on long (500 miles+) trips have had up to 33mpg sat a 70 on cruise-control all day. car is 18 months old and done 15500 miles.
My worst figure has been a day of offroading in low ratio and still managed to it keep above 20mpg. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
