Alex I would suggest that you get some advice from your local dealer or take a look at what the owner's manual says.

Hi, welshalex, the antifreeze in the coolant (pink stuff in expansion tank at front of engine bay) should have been put in as a 50 / 50 mix at factory, and should be fine down to -40. If you mean windscreen washer water antifreeze, I would suggest you may need to add some more anti freeze stuff to stop that freezing. Have a look in handbook for more details. |

DON'T add car radiator antifreeze to the washer bottle - use neat or not too diluted screen cleaner as that already has an anti-freezing additive in it. You can get window washer winter concentrate from Halfords. If you add car radiator antifreeze you will strip the paint off your car when you wash the windows! It really is that corrosive! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced 2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW |
