Yeah, the new Freelander / LR2 has Bluetooth integration only and no more cradles (those are so passe', anyway), but it includes all the bells and whistles I wish "our" BT system had... Automatic phonebook transfer, Caller ID shows stored entries names rather than #s, ability to scroll through recently dialed, received and missed calls, one-touch voicemail access from the head unit, ability to access the phone voice dial system, rather than using a separate one in the car... Also, it is the car system hunting for the phone, not the other way around (like in the RRS.) So you can easily re-pair or break BT links without touching the phone. Info is still displayed on the radio LCD rather than the touchscreen, but overall I am still very jealous. |

In my last car had the Tom Tom 700. Used to Snyc with the Nokia allowing access to the address book and messaging on screen. Would also allow updates, speed camera info and traffic data all by bluetooth. Everything was accessed by the touchscreen

I actually kind of like that phone display and keypad are NOT integrated within the rest of the info on the touchscreen (think big Range). I prefer to push real buttons when dialing a number, and when dialing or receiving calls the satnav maps and directions stay right where they are on the main monitor. But you are right about the current PTI system being a bit behind the times, it is over two years old and that's an eternity in high-tech speak. |

I didn't think the 2007 RRS had any improvements with regard to the PTI |
