Picking up my RRS tomorrow, any suggestions?

Hi all,

I was informed by dealer that my Buckingham Blue RRS 4.2SC will be ready for pickup tomorrow.

Any suggestions regarding what I should take care during this process? Anything in particular to check in carefully or pay close attentionr?

Perhaps some of you can share your pickup experience with me?

Much obliged.

Hi redtarga

Hope you enjoy picking up your new SPORT. Check the car thoroughly yourself, sometimes the PDI department dont always do a thorough job.

Check all the paintwork is gleaming and clean from the wax/coating that is left on from the factory.

Get the salesperson to set up your driver seat memory position etc. Make sure you get a full demonstration of all the controls. Ask him about how to set up the keyfob and the various options it has.

Perhaps go out for a drive together before you leave. ( anything the PDI boys have missed may be picked up by your sale chap )

Take your camera & give us loads of nice pics Very Happy

Enjoy the day

Cheers

Got the RRS yesterday around 6 PM.

My initial reactions:

Very nice looking!! (Will try to post some photos over the weekend)

It has the motorized seat adjustments, but no lumber support buttons! Sad

Was assured that it came with rear differential lock. Any way to confirm that?

Already drove it that evening to treat my colleagues and guests to dinner. Round trip 150 km, mostly highway, but at varying speed. I feel it's very high....still not used to being that high when driving.

Feels big and tall in the city, especially going into an underground parking last night.

ADC worked better than I expected, but probably won't be really useful in congested highway conditions.

RRS 4.2SC exhaust has a nice rumble, but maybe some people will find it a bit noisy or intrusive.

The ride is on the stiff side, but ok for me.

Major disappointment was the "special black piano finish" promised by the salesman. It was not as nice as I had hoped for. On top of that, on both sides of the center console, it did not completely wrap around the edges. So I called and told them to return it to the original cherry wood finish.

To check that you have the rear diff lock switch the nav screen to the off road info and find somewhere slippery to drive, select a terrain response programme to suit and drive off - you will see the difflock iconss turn red on the screen as they operate. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Mine has automatic lumbar button. Is it dependent on the market?

Iton: Found the lumber support, it's a rotary knob on the side of seat. Hmmmm.... a bit cheap for this class of vehicle. Sad

MDP: Hopefully the weather will be good this weekend, and I will take some photos in nearby country side. Perhaps with a Toureg, and a X5. Should be an interesting lineup.

Tim: Will try to check rear diff according to your suggestion.

Hi all,

I finally took some pics of my Buckingham Blue RRS, and uploaded them onto my gallery.

Also took some photos together with X5 and Toureg.

The RRS looks the best!

Toureg owner actually likes the look of the RRS much more than his Toureg!

X5 owner thought the ride of the RRS was better

So, like Very annoyed stated, the winner is in the middle!
