Woolich_gunner - the TDV8 has been on the cards for months now and as yet the TDV6 has not been hit. The Supercharged is the model to avoid, it's residuals have really fallen. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

plus the TDV8 is more expensive anyway, so the TDV6 will still be in demand in the used sector (I hope) |

100% not going out of production. TDV8 won't fit in Disco 3 and by dropping TDV6 LR would raise their entry price far too high.

By dropping the TDV6, LR would also have to kiss the Belgian market good bye. The registration taxes and annual road taxes on the TDV8 are double those on the V6. A lot of car makers de-tune their diesel engine to 163 bhp which puts them just below the threshold at which these taxes take a sudden hike. At 190 bhp the TDV6 is aready mid way up the tax range over here which depresses residual values. This also explains the considerable popularity of chip tuning in this market... 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge |
