Scotland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey
Range Rover or Sport?

I am looking to change my Sport TD for the new V8TD....delivery on both the Sport and RR pretty much the same, late January.

Difference in cost is about £15k before getting silly with extras.

Just wondering if anybody has driven both of them yet and would consider the RR over the Sport?

Also, how dreadful would the depreciation on the RR would be over the RRS, which is obviously fantastic at the moment, but I assume that won't last.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I've driven a RR TDv8 and it is a wonderful machine. I haven't sampled a TDv8 RRS yet but would imagine that it won't be that much different. It all depends what you want - smaller more compact RRS or a limo that can go anywhere.
I think that for the time being the demand for the TDv8 RR is sufficiently high that it won't depreciate too much in the 1st 2-3 years. I would imagine that in the next 12 months the prices of used RRS's will ease as more of them come on the market at 2-3 years old and owners start thinking about changing them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

As an indication of where S/H prices will go, a friend of mine is considering exchanging a 11k mile, 20 month old RR Vogue for a RR TDv8. Was offered a mere 29k for the RR against full list for the TD!

[EDIT - it wasn't a S/C, but still horrific depreciation]

There's a rumour there will soon be a 4.4 Exclamation TDV8 to compete with the german diesels. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

My understanding was the 4.4 was US only for Ford trucks. What depreciation do you reckon a SC RRS would suffer over the same period?
