Today is market day in these parts and the roads are awash with Discos and Defenders pulling large livestock floats.................... so there is no point in rushing anywhere.
I was tootling along minding my own business listening to the Lynne Truss CD in my now working CD player in no hurry to get to town because I knew I would end up stuck behind a convoy of wagons.
On the long fast section of the A811 I spied a set of headlights coming up extremely fast behind me, it flew passed and looked like a new style M5 in a hurry to get held up. Eventually I caught up and was able to see over the tops of all the hedgerows and see a clear road ahead so I changed from boring fart mode to RRSPORT driver mode and wellied it...................... much to the annoyance of Mr M5 guy who couldn't see that the road was clear. As soon as I had passed him he pulled out behind me and immediately started hooting his horn and flashing his headlights to get passed - I'm on an A road here, one lane in each direction and he's trying to get passed while I am overtaking 5 Landies towing livestock................. so I just slowed right down until I was doing about 60 and let him boil over tailgating me. As soon as I was able to pull into the left I did and this idiot just wellied his BM and disappeared. Next seen with a White Disco3 with police stickers and flashing blue lights on it parked behind the M5 - I assume that he was being booked for speeding or driving dangerously having been caught by the D3 patrol car which usually sits on the bridge over the M9 watching for speeders on that!
It's good to be able to see over the hedgerows to see if there is any traffic coming the other way and to have local knowledge! Is there a smiley for SMUG  2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
