United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 Autobiography Zambezi Silver
Faraday pouch

Hi, yesterday, I turned my keyless entry back on as it looks like the RR thefts may have slowed down a bit after the last 2 years due to all the LR security updates (still waiting for my pre 2018 MY and don’t think it’s ever gunna happen). Anyway all good and well and it works as it should. On a recent post of mine someone mentioned that I should check my faraday pouch to make sure it works as they don’t last forever. Anyway I was shocked when I put it in my case and I could still open the car. I’ve had my pouch now for 7 years so not sure when it stopped working, it definitely worked when I first got it as I checked it. I just thought they would last forever. So now I’m using the LR fishy smelling one they sent me while they are trying to sort a security update for my 2016MY car. So if you have a faraday pouch make sure it works on a regular basis….

Yeah, depending on how much you use it, you’d be better off changing it every year. I found this out a few years ago. They’re only cheap off Amazon anyway.

Presumably these fail because the thin wires used in them break over time so opening the circuit? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Or a metal box with lid (can also drop your wallet in it too). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Updates are allegedly available for pre facelift cars so we should be getting a letter soon I’d imagine for us to visit the dealers for the security update. MY14 Freelander 2 Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I have been using one of these for the last 15 months and it still works well, but it is bulky:
