I changed just the seals on my cylinder 6 injector a couple of years ago and have never had a problem with any others, vehicle is currently at 292K miles.

Thanks for the info!
"292K miles" (!!) in Your vehicle, that gives me good hope with the car. With 300k km-s and the injector seal gone leaking I was thinking about trading for a car with less milage - but if You have managed 300k miles (almost 500k km-s!) I would love to keep my much trusted L494 as well. A long time ago my Merc GL has reached the 500k km barrier - I never dared to hope my very much loved RRS can do the same trick.

I don't see why not, my 2007 L320 sport is still going strong at 545k miles with its present owner. Golden rule is, never, ever take them to a main dealer!

JLR obviously stock them, but they're a bosch part and are cheap as chips on ebay, albeit only a couple of quid from JLR. I'd insist the clamp plate and bolts are changed too, as the plate can distort and the bolts stretch. For the small extra cost it's worth it for peace of mind.

Just an update on this had a look at injector 2 that needs the washer replacing and not a lot of space to work in! So I’ve booked in at my local garage but they can’t see me for another 2 weeks - am I okay to drive the car for short journeys until then - don’t want to cause any damage to the injector as the noise gets louder once the car is upto temp after 15/20 mins

All I can say is I drove mine back from the south of France, near on 1000 miles will no ill effect when I came to replace the washer. Injector was a bit gunked up with the blow by gasses, but soon cleaned up to as good as new.

Thanks dude - I’ve seen this kit on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176208795299?mk...media=COPY

Would this do the job?

Yep, that would do, ideally I'd get the clamp plate too.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Just had another look at the injectors - not a lot of space in there :/
Did you use an injector puller to get the injector out?

The injectors on the TDV6 could be tight but on the 3.0 SDV6 they usually jump pull out by hand, didn't have a problem with mine. You need to remove the coolant crossover pipe then you can remove the sound deadening and access is then easy.
