Glow Plug Measurements

Hi all. Thought that since it's a bit milder i would start looking at issues with my Sport.
1st being that during winter, minus 5 or 6 it would struggle to start. But in all fairness I think it shouldn't.
Anyhow, set multimeter to 200 ohms and here's my findings.
Bank 1, drivers side,brown lead.
1 @ 1
1 @ 00.8
1 @ 17.9

Bank 2, pass side,black lead
1@ 148.0
1@ 1
1@ 1
Are my readings done correctly and if so have I got 2 plugs needing changed?
Any advice warmly received as always.

For good winter starting on the 2.7 you need a 2.2K resistor across the temp gauge sender ..its RHS radiator hose . This is the equivalent of pouring hot water on the sensor .

Second the plugs are wired in pairs...at the rear of the fuse box are 3 large fuses. Best to pull them out and bypass with an ammeter 0-20 A . Once they warm up current will drop to about 19A
I only have 2 working on mine and having watched LR time I am not changing them.

Looks like you have 1 plug working..some meters read 0 when its infinity and only the 0.8 cold looks right Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

No need for bypass as I have remote operated pre heater gizmo which i use when it's really cold, run for about 10 mins and it starts fine. Just more concerned about unburnt fuel smoke from exhaust when I don't use it.
And to be honest I've got no clue on resistor fitting or amps at the fuse box.

yeah 2 GP not working.

I would expect it to start with 4 working.
Usually its only a problem at or below 0°C (on the early 2005 engines)

Do you have a DPF ?

Yeah mate. It starts but a bit lumpy for a few seconds or so.
Is there a way to find out which pin connects to which plug?

Below Zero deg the ECU increases fuel to the point where the engine is flooded and does not atart ...hence the hot water trick.
If you read your own post mentioned above you will see he has 1 GP working the 0.8 ohm one . all the
1 are 0pen circuit and the higher readings failing. If it was 1 ohm it would read 1.00 Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.
