Cost of 2nd service

Hi
I’ve been a Mercedes owner for some years, but for my 70th last year I bought a 3 year old 3.0 diesel Range Rover Sport on 28000 miles
It’s approved used from a main dealer in Liverpool with 1 year guarantee
I’ve booked it in with local Preston dealer for service which apparently is it’s 2nd and they’ve quoted £816.00
Is this top heavy?
Thanks
Norman

I was quoted similar for my RRS last year. Shocked

I did everything myself and it cost less than £150.00 and a couple of hours of discomfort (i.e. work). I'm only a few years younger than you and I use a wheelchair.

I was impressed with my saving and the fact that I managed to do all myself. Thumbs Up

Thanks you very much - that is most impressive, well done.
I’ve recently had a second hip transplant and the surgeon suggested leaving such activities for a while.
I look back fondly to when my wife and I removed the gearbox from a Vauxhall Viva around 1976 in the back yard of our terraced house
With regards to the current situation I am considering giving the work to a local independent if it didn’t affect the one year guarantee

i'M SURE you can get service costs online. (well you can for my jag).

I would try another main dealer (from different network) and see what they quote

The key words here are "if it didn’t affect the one year guarantee". My experience is always to go to a good independent over a main dealer. The independents tend to employ quality car mechanics who know what they are doing rather than main dealer wallys who just plug it in and say "the computer says you need a new gearbox".... Robin
