United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Autobiography Stornoway Grey
Auxilary belts, tensioners and pulleys

Hello,

I have a 2010 3.6 TDV8 and have a noisy pulley on the auxiliary belt system, the car has done nearly 95,000 miles.

I know I have 2 auxiliary belts, 2 tensioners and 2 pulleys on the 3.6 TDV8.

Do I need to remove the viscous fan assembly (whereby I'll need the 2 spanners)?

I downloaded the TDV8 topix pages for the correct orientation of the belts and tensioners/pulleys.

Is there a definitive guide for doing the job please?

I'd hope its a loosen belt tension, remove belts, remove tensioners x2 and pulleys x2 and refit/retorque and then refit the 2 belts, I'd seen the viscous fan can be a bitch to remove.

Well, I know Matt Armstrong removing one from a project SVR had serious problems, leading to needing a new engine, due to the viscous fan bracket snapping and pulling a lump out the block, please don't tell me it'll be a similar job possibly????

Cheers in advance

Dean

Hopefully col will point you at a guide.

I have seen that Matt video. Seams mostly caused by the crash damage it seams

I don’t think you need to remove the fan. You should be able to just push the belt over the fan, if that is even necessary.

If you look at the posts by this user, there are some recent tips on how to change the belt/alternator on the tdv8
