Hi everyone, hope you all had a happy Christmas and New Year.

My Rangie died on me today and doesn't want to start.

Bit of background information:

Last week my alternator packed in, had a fault code for mechanical performance for the alternator and battery light on, so ordered a replacement.

I fitted it yesterday, car started up fine, no more battery light and fault code cleared. My diagnostic tool showed 14.5v so thought all fixed.

Took it for a test drive this morning round the block and it died, not even half a mile drive.

There is no voltage under the charging points under the bonnet.

I tested the big fuses in the boot area and they all seem to be fine.

I know the ground cables in the wheel arch common on these and i cleaned and put dielectric grease on these in summer as preventative maintenance but haven't checked these yet.

I have got a code in PCM called P0A0F-00 Engine cannot start.

I can hear something click but don't know if its starter or a any relay.

I also know crank is common on these, could check to see if its engine but i think its related to this alternator issue.

The nut holds thick wire behind the alternator was hard to undo as it was tight and i tightened it as hard as i could and thought may be that came off.

I apricate its a long one but if anyone can shed light i would be so grateful.

I am a bit further on, the main fuse 450A is blown that lives on the right hand side in the boot.

I am not sure why but if i find out i will update here.

Issue now resolved, the red rubber cap wasn't seated properly and i think electricity jump causing a short.

Its now all resolved but it would of been hard without the wiring diagram
