Rear brake discs and pads L320 3.0tdv6

Hi all,

Going to tackle the rear brakes myself at some point, stupid question probably but are they a straight forward job or do they need a computer to release / reset the handbrake? I'm not changing the shoes unless they are knackered just discs and pads

Any advice is appreciated

If not removing the shoes. Just release P brake and then remove fuse from under the bonnet to ensure it doesn't deploy. You really dont want this!

If removing shoes, you want to slacken the cables really in service mode. An IID tool.
or maybe various pressing of buttons in certain order cam do this!

Eh up Baker 3570

Have a look at the threads on here there’s loads of good advice

I read up alot when I planned on doing mine, loads of folks on here gave great tips ( I posted my experience at the time)

I also put a thread on which might help, I managed to do mine without the 11d , but it was a challenge Big Cry

As Andy K stated remove the fuse, also make sure you do the correct setting process for the shoes after you’ve done the discs so the epb works correctly Thumbs Up

I took my time as mine was a challenge, worth it though for the satisfaction alone Very Happy

Hope yours goes well

Do search for Bodsy's Brake Bible, contains everything you need to know and how to do the job, page 23 explains how to put it in service mode without diag. tool as well, might have to have a couple of goes to get it to get it to activate, but it does work.

Cheers
Col
