Hello,

I have a 2020 Range Rover, and I’m having an issue where the tailgate sensor isn’t recognising that the boot is shut, even though it is fully closed. Because of this, the car won’t let me lock it, and the warning light stays on.

Has anyone experienced this before or got any ideas on how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I had this exact issue on my 19 plate 494.
It needs a new tailgate latch. the micro switches are inside it and not worth messing around with. a pattern replacement was, IIRC, around £60. fitted it myself in about 30 minutes. Could do it again in half that time.
All very straightforward once you have the tailgate cover panel off - be brave - it pops off - get a flat blade / scraper and pop the 1st one - after that you're rolling. rest is obvious. L494 Range Rover Sport Dynamic HSE - 2019, 3.0 SDV6, Loire Blue - SOLD
