Idiot question re temp gauges L320 10-12

In case someone didn't know and to save them having to go out to the car, dig out the handbook and find the relevant section, does the class know why there are 2 indicators on the temp gauge ?

There's a line that rises to approx 50% on the left and a bar, that in this weather gets to approx 30% on the right.

I know obvs, just seeing if anyone else does.

Honest

A picture would be interesting, as don't recall ever seeing anything like that on mine either, unless a MY13 car is different.

Cheers

I’m really hoping he’s not talking about the fuel gauge. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Funnily enough I work in Liverpool, however, live on The Wirral Peninsular, so will refrain from commenting for fear of offending anyone !

Anyway, back on topic, here’s a pic. The engine was stone cold when I took it, so doesn’t show the bars having moved yet.

Will try and get a better one later.

What an idiot I am. Just worked it out. The bottom bar is the same as the top bar and doesn’t move. The left hand needle is the only indicator of temp.

I’ll get my coat.

Easily done

Some just have a triangle to indicate the temp.

It would have been nice to get that screen in color so those bars were red and blue rather than white and grey. Oh well, at least it’s provided us with some suspense and entertainment. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

I’m going to print that out and tape it to my cluster. I wish I had the 12/13 black/white display instead of the 10/11 grey/gradient display. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

The colours are that way round because it's a UK spec. car exported down under, and everything is upside down here. Laughing
