Fuel burning heater

Hi I have a 2006 2.7 sport with a heater that works when engine running
My question is if I fitted a remote controller is there a pump in the heater that would circulate the water if the engine is not running and can you get the heater in the car to blow at the same time

The FBH does have a pump so that bit's ok. There are remote kits for the FBH and they're straight forward to fit. The added benefit of using them is if you have weak glow plugs, the warmed engine starts more easily, so that's a great additional benefit.

Getting the cabin fan to run will require something of your own invention - I don't think the 2006 had an option for cabin preheating as was available in later years. Might be possible to source and install the necessary kit that was fitted to later versions, however - a search on here and on Disco3.com might bring up some answers. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It can be done (running fan inside), but it’s not really worth the hassle and cost. (And battery flatting)

Get a remote installed. So once you start the engine, you have a warmish heater.

A remote sounds like it could be very handy as my car is parked very close to my door.

If it's possible to fit one to my car, does anyone have a link to one for sale?

Have a look here : Lots of information.

There are many different manufactures, particularly for the early model 05-09
Some have SIM cards and trackers. (you text it to start the heater) ALTOX (not sure if these are still working being from R). And you need to keep the SIM alive during summer.

for your facelift, I would ask you to consider the factory one, if sensibly priced. You fit a box in the rear.
