Restricted Perfomance issue...

So guys Ive had the RP error come on the dash in the last few months sporadically, usually when driving for at least 1 hour at 50mph+, the error does not store as when I turn the engine off (even for a few mins) and on again the error clears and the car drives with normal revs etc.

I put my code reader in and the code given is p006a - Air mass volume correlation, I can clear the code and again the car drives fine.

Today I decided to pop into my local indy garage so they could plug there more expensive code reader in, they said they was a couple of codes with the above and a couple DPF codes, they cleared them and gave the car a test drive.

So my question is could the DPF filter be bringing on the RP error, but usually I would get a DPF nearly full yellow warning and would need to go give the car a blast on the motorway for half hour and this would clear it, could the DPF be now full and not be able to be cleared hence why Im getting a RP error but not a DPF error or warning? Or is RP error basically due to the bad hose or the start of a small manifold crack?
Any help would be appreciated...

The Indy should have been able to read the DPF percentage.
My Autel can read it as I found out after I had RP and a DPF full warning. It happened a couple of miles after filling up with premium diesel. The DPF was only 15% full as it happened. I cleared the codes and it's been perfect ever since last August.
It was a frustrating drive from Cheshire back to France though. A Cheshire expat in France.

A bit of an update on my last post.

We made the exact same journey from Cheshire to France last week. I filled up with V Max diesel in Congleton and set off. Just a few miles down the M6, the DPF full warning lit up and it went into restricted performance. Fortunately, as a result of what happened last time, I had my Autel diag' with me. I stopped at the 1st services and tried to clear the codes, the DPF reading was 28%. So, I just opted for a forced regen and set off.
Once we got up to 50mph, my wife hit the regen button and within a few seconds all was sorted and it cleared the fault. It ran perfectly all the way back to France and has done all week.

I ran a check yesterday after a 'Service required' message popped up and it's showing 7% oil dilution, 17% DPF soot, despite the fact that I changed the oil & filter 2 weeks ago and reset everything.

I'll do another oil & filter change this weekend.

To add to our woes, my wife was taking our grandaughter to school when someone with a very wide animal trailer came barreling round a narrow bend and smashed the door mirror so badly that it hit the window and cracked it, as well as denting the door top and causing loads of scratches on both doors and the rear quarter. He didn't stop and the dash cam's footage couldn't show his reg' clearly enough.

That's going to be an expensive fix, as without a written UK Police report, our insurance in France don't want to know. A crime number doesn't cut it.

I've got the parts ordered and have machined polished the marks out. I'll get our lads paintless dent expert to sort it when we are in the UK next time. A Cheshire expat in France.

If you’re showing a mass air correlation error you have an air leak between the airbox and inlet manifold. Could be a loose clip, cracked inlet manifold, split pipe, etc. Check them all. Once that is sorted out your DPF will reward you with fewer regens and less shooting up. Right now you’re making the DPF work more due to the intake having a leak. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Many thanks for that info'. I'll get my Autel back on it after I've done the oil change and see what's what. Cheers. A Cheshire expat in France.

Oil & filter change done, all reminders reset and only 1 fault code, that's for the stop/start battery, but I've disconnected the earth so it doesn't work.

I'll see how it goes for a while. A Cheshire expat in France.
