What is the problem with it coming on ?. It helps the engine get to normal operating temperature quickly even if the outside temperature doesn't really require it. 2010 RRS, TDV8

It does its job well on a cold start. but when the engine is completely heated up and running normal indicated by the water temperature, it will come on and causes what I feel is unnecessary exhaust odour in the car. For example - it was 6% this afternoon and it was working. Opened the bonnet and it was, as it should be when working, very hot. Perhaps it need a clean? Any advice welcome gogsy Andrew Kennedy |

This the second one on the car. I didn't realise they have two modes - is it possible to change the mode? Or is that something it would do automatically? Andrew Kennedy |

Not come across this 2 power mode thing before,,,, but in any event you shouldn't be getting fumes off it into the cab. Your right saying they get hot during operation,, have you noticed any fuel leaks around the exhaust area??, had this on mine and it was causing excessive smoke from under the bonnet,, problem was a broken porcelain insulator that houses the glowplug. The only part that me require cleaning is the "pot" that the burner sits in,, this can become choked with carbon over time. I have the webasto software installed on a laptop which allows me to function each individual component of the heater for test purposes and also force the heater to start then monitor each phase of startup and operation,,, great for resetting lockouts as well as this can happen after 3 failed attempts to light. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Thanks for the update! I had to change the original one as it was having problems in infighting. I wouldn't feel competent in stripping it down, so will see how it goes. But I would like to know if disconnecting it from its two electrical connections would cause any problems with the computer? Andrew Kennedy |

Right. If it keeps the engine at the correct temperture at all times in the cold days, I will keep it conected unless it causes problems. I have noticed it comes on at times when the engine is perhaps not as warm as it could be. Andrew Kennedy |
